Bio
Tamara Sangdow is a Thai-American Director and Creative Director based between New York and Bangkok, with over 12 years of experience Her work moves between narrative, documentary, and branded content, extending into commercial, music video, fashion, and concert films.
Her passion for storytelling began at a young age, when she borrowed her mother’s 35mm point and shoots to observe life through images and emotion. Her foundation in photography and art, combined with her training in music, informs her creative approach rooted in rhythm, visual identity, storytelling, and feeling.
After moving to New York to study Fashion Merchandising at the Fashion Institute of Technology, she refined her voice through roles in creative and production, leading to positions at Vice Media and later Condé Nast as a Creative Director. She has led award-winning campaigns for brands including Pitchfork, GQ, Vogue, Teen Vogue, The New Yorker, WIRED, and Them.
Tamara has also directed for brands such as Singapore Tourism Board, Häagen-Dazs, Glossier, MGM Resorts International, SK-II, Bio-Oil, Disney, and Shell.
In 2023, she developed her short film Echoes of the Night at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival under the mentorship of Barry Sabbath. The film premiered in December 2025 at the 20th Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival in Yogyakarta.
